Washington - Caldwell Parent Update
Week of April 22, 2024
Message from our Principal
Hello Bulldog Families,
We are excited to be hosting our initial STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math) NIght on Wednesday, April 24, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. We will be showcasing some examples of what our students are learning and doing through Project Lead The Way, as well as our core content areas of math, science and the arts. Through the work of our teachers and students, we make connections between STEAM and our daily lives and provide opportunities for students to better understand the world around them. In addition, we are beginning to develop a more focused coding program to support student understanding and interest in this aspect of computer science. We will have developmentally appropriate coding activities for kids on Wednesday evening. We invite you to join us for a night of learning, exploration and family fun. We hope to see you there!
The Strategic Planning Committee plays an integral role in actuating our school vision and mission. Most recently, the SPC was instrumental in the messaging and support of the operating referendum. The committee includes staff, parents and community members who work together to share ideas, develop plans and implement strategies to achieve the short-term and long-term goals of Washington-Caldwell. Our next scheduled meeting is Tuesday, April 23 at 4:00 p.m. at Washington-Caldwell. If you would like to be part of this committee, please contact me directly.
I have reserved office hours each week to meet with parents to discuss school improvement ideas, concerns or to simply meet with you to increase parent engagement throughout the year. Office hours are on Wednesdays from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. You may also contact me via email at kmccormick@washcald.com, or by phone at 262-662-3466, Ext. 166.
Sincerely,
Kevin
Superintendent/Principal
